What currency should we bring? How much cash?
Italy uses Euros and we always recommend having some cash with you before you go. You can go to your local bank and request Euros… we would suggest having 100 EUR on hand. ATMs are everywhere in Italy including right in our hotel! You will want to always have some EUR with you as Italy is still somewhat a cash based economy. You can use your debit card at the ATMs but we also recommend having at least 1 credit card – Visa and Mastercard are more common than American Express
Should I bring my cell phone / how does that work?
You can bring your cell phone with you to Italy but be very aware of the charges your carrier may have for international roaming. Most plans now offer plans with specific minutes / data you can access while roaming. Please contact your cell phone provider to sign up for a plan PRIOR to going to Italy if you want to use your cell phone there.
How does the payment plan with Uplift work?
We have partnered with Uplift which is a company that helps people finance travel. Please review this website for more information (www.uplift.com). If you elect to use this payment plan we will go over the application process which is very simple and you will get approval right on your phone. You will find out what your payments would be on your approval letter but you do not have to proceed at that point. You can decide if you want the loan or not. IF you decide to accept the loan, your payment is split into 12 equal payments and you only have to pay the first payment right away. After that Uplift will charge you each month. You can pay off the loan at anytime and there are no pre-payment penalties. You only pay for interest for the time you had the loan.
Monthly payments are automatically debited from the form of payment that you provide to Upliftto submit the first payment at the time of booking
When a guest applies through Uplift to get an approval decision and confirmed monthly rate, a soft credit pull occurs to verify identity and determine eligibility. Regardless of the approval decision, this ‘soft’ credit check will not affect a guest’s credit report.
When a guest accepts a payment plan through Uplift, Uplift will request that s/he finalize the application with a deposit (first payment) and SIN. When you complete the application and confirm the loan, a hard credit inquiry occurs.
